I'm afraid I'm probably in the minority but I haven't read the reboot series because from what I've heard, I'm not crazy about how Trip's death was "fixed". I know the writer had to work within Paramount/publisher's rules but I just don't care for the idea. I guess in some ways I'm as conservative as a hard-line fan; I want my crew together!

In this book Trip is still(?) working for Section 31. And he seems to have embraced the philosophy of this organization whole-heartedly. See, this is where I have real problems. I just can't see fine, upstanding Trip corrupted to this point. And make no mistake, spy work corrupts people. They end up having to do things that they wouldn't normally do or want to do.
As I said, I haven't read the series so I don't know if he was coerced into taking the position or not.
And how would I fix the Abomination (TATV)?
Well, there are several ways: (I wrote a script that involved time travel).
But the easiest is to say that it was a hologram programmed by Troi using inaccurate information. After all, the characters spout wrong info throughout it (Hoshi's remarks about Trip not attending college and being almost incomprehensible, Trip calling Archer "Boss", etc. etc.)
I'm interested in the Tudor era of history, and that history is being constantly revised as new information becomes available or is re-evaluated. This includes people's birth dates, what they said, etc., etc., etc. So it's not improbable that information would become lost or garbled, especially during the Romulan War.
If Enterprise gets the Netflix reboot, I hope that's how it's handled.
(Of course, the real truth is that Bermaga made a lousy, stupid decision ...
