Earthquake!

I felt the Virginia earthquake in Philly! Apparently, people felt it in Manhattan too!

Very strange and scary, but all fine here. Pictures didn't even fall off the walls.

Yeah, it was a weird experience here in NYC. They say it could be felt all the way up to Boston. Hubs felt it in Atlanta, and there are reports that people in Florida could feel it too.

Crazy! I hope everyone is okay.

Reports said they could feel it into Ohio, but we didn't get anything here in MI that I'm aware of.

I was on AIM with the wife when she felt her building shake in NC.

Things are getting back to normal here, although we do have some public transit disruptions on the commuter rails.

So far, I haven't seen any reports of injuries, just a lot of people rattled. I hope it stays that way.

I just read a news item that two nuclear power plants have been shut down. Probably a good precaution after what happened in Japan.

:hugs to all of you rattled by the quake. When you live in an area that isn't earthquake-prone, it can be especially scary.

Felt it down here in Charlotte. It was WEIRD.

Called my family in Va. Beach, DC and Richmond. In-laws live in Fredericksburg VA (about 20 minutes from Mineral, VA, the center of the quake), but they're in Orlando FL this week. One of my sisters (who works in a hospital) felt it, the other sister slept through it. I called my brother who moved back to Quantico TWO DAYS AGO for a new job. He said he, my SIL and their 2 kids were at the Quantico PX (Exchange, main store) and suddenly the alarm went off and they evacuated everyone out of the building.

Will call my parents tonight, and Hubs' friends in RIchmond.

I didn't feel that one out here, but there was a magnitude 5.3 quake last night near Trinidad, CO, which is about 180 miles away. I did feel that one. One of the weirdest things I ever felt -- I actually thought for a moment that I was going hypoglycemic. Then I thought there was a giant truck passing by, except traffic hasn't been able to shake the building quite that much, and it didn't sound like something passing by.

Only minor damage from the CO quake, from what I've read.
