Order of Battle for the Romulan War

Thanks again for my previous technology request. I appreciate all the help and if ya think of something else don't hesitate.

For my next trick...I need any and all help and guesses for the Order of Battle (OOB) of the various combatants at the beginning of the Romulan War. For any who are not sure what that is, it is the distribution of forces like:

United Earth Had 2 NX class ships Enterprise and Columbia. In Storm Front 2 a bunch of earth ships of different shaped surround Enterprise as they return to earth, but what were they??

I do not know the names of the other classes of ships or ships names yet we know that the UE had lots of older ships.

We know the Andorians have Kumari Class vessels but how many?

We know the Vulcans had D'Kyr class ships but how many?

I need to build a OOB for Andoria, Vulcan, Romulus, UE, the Klingons, and the Tellarites.
If you have not guessed I am embarking on my first fan fic. I will need this info eventually. If someone can direct me to an existing OOB it would be great.

You may want to have a look at both Memory Alpha for canonical references to ship classes in the ENT era and, interestingly, Deviant Art for nice specs of both canon ENT era ships and some really well done "invented" ships. Memory Beta would help you out with whatever the novels have hinted at the fleet types and strengths are.

As for how many? I don't think there was anything ever definitive said about that. You could guess based on several episodes (Enterprise's return after the Xindi war is a nice picture of lots of ships and the face off between the Vulcans & Andorians during the Kir'Shara is good too) but that isn't necessarily all the ships in any given fleet, especially when the Romulan war is years later. New ships, even new classes of ships may have been built.

In addition to the scene when ENT returned from the Expanse, you should also take a look at the Romulan arc during season 4 as that is, I think, the only time you see multiple ships from multiple species working together on ENT.

To be perfectly honest, I don't think there was an actual order of battle that's really available. For a fleet, Starfleet was woefully inadequate, and when I started writing my Endeavour series, I pretty much had to make something up out of whole cloth since the show actually gives you very little to work with on that regard. If you go entirely by visual canon, then, by the time the E/R War begins, Starfleet may have had twenty ships max.

So as long as you work in an explanation for why these ships suddenly came out of nowhere, then I think you'll be okay. My Fleet Page for the Endeavour site is purely extrapolation on my part - the Neptune class is referenced in the show, but we don't know if it was the half-saucers or the deltas. I think they also referenced the Iceland class once as well, but again, no idea what's what.

I have decided to invent my own classes of ships for the Romie war. I intend on using the canon you suggested but most of the ships would be toast in a real conflict, old and slow. I figure at best star fleet could launch maybe 3 more NX class ships before the war.

I also note that Starfleet canon seems to run to the black shoe navy, battleships which would be large and expensive. Great for peace time but war? i think not. i don't see stellar aircraft carriers either, you would need a fleet to guard the things.

Don't want to say to much more. My tale is up to chapter 3 called forks in the road over at TriSilk (shameless plug) the war is a long long ways off at the rate i am going.
