Support for Manned Space Exploration

Postby Honeybee » Wed Jul 13, 2011 11:23 am

As we celebrate the bittersweet end of the shuttle program and its achievements, it's time to start looking forward. Aquarius and I have decided that it is the official position of The Delphic Expanse to support manned space flight and that we should be looking toward Mars and beyond.

Here's NASA's page on the subject:

Here's a thread where you can share space memories, talk about the future, post links and hopefully do some good for the future of mankind!

Nasa has extended the Space Shuttle mission one more Thursday July 21 there will be a special news conference with the Atlantis crew and the Is.s. about the last space shuttle mission. I'm glad that their mission is going well.

So, they are working on replicators. Here's a video of a real 3D printer:

This era needs another Carl Sagan. Nobody could speak about space, science and the cosmos like he could.

I saw Professor Sagan speak when I was in junior high. Just a wonderful man! We do need another person with his enthusiasm.

I haven't read Mary Roach's book on preparing for Mars, but it is definitely on my list.

Yahoo just had a news story mentioning it's been 36 years aince Apollo and Soyuz joined together for the veryfisrt time also The Hubble space telescope has discoverd that Pluto has four moons . :cheering It's hard to belive tomorrow when Atlantis lands for the the last time there won't be any more shuttle missions it's sad to see such a wonderful spaceship will never flying again.

It does make you feel sad seeing the Atlantis end it's mission for the very last time.I'm going to miss seeing space shuttle launchs and the amazing things NASA accomplished with the Shullte program.
