Technology discovered or pirated by Enterprise

Postby Steelchaser » Sun Jul 10, 2011 2:33 pm

Prologue: Seems to me that enterprise came across all manner of new technology during their voyages. I wish to put together a list of such stuff

Why: a. why not b. I am an engineer and finally have a wee fic perculating in my head.

List so far:

Andorian Injectors borrowed from Shran in the expanse
Klingon photonic torpedos
E2 T'Pol's isomagnetic collectors (or whatever it was, she did give T'Pol the younger the info
Shielding (bound to have gotten it from someone by now)
Xindi power supplies
Xrylllian Warp core (was it identical?)
Orion slave control device (Borderland)
Orion Comm device (Bound)

any help would be appreciated

It was a warp "coil" they took from the Illyrians, I think.

The Xyrillians had holdeck technology. Enterprise didn't actually get it, but they mediated a swap to the Klingons (your holodeck, or your lives!).

I always love the way that they're able to get spare parts from someone else and with just a little elbow grease they work just fine. Trip never even seems to need to read the manual!

Fun topic!

-They captured a Suliban cell-ship in "Broken Bow" that they use again in at least two episodes, including the one where Trip accidentally cloaks his arm.
-They obtained Kreetassan plasma injectors in "A Night in Sickbay."
- Do Phlox's critters count as medical technology? If so, Porthos received an alien iguana's organ(s) in "A Night in Sickbay."
- They at least saw some Borg technology in "Regeneration." I haven't watched it in a long time, though, so I don't remember if everything was destroyed or if they may have been able to keep and study some of it.

 I know! It's amazing how everything in the future just all sort of works together, when right now even simple things like cell phone chargers and computer power cords are usually compatible with only one device.

LOL. I know a lot of real-life geeks, techies, engineers, construction contractors and do-it-your-selfers. Not a single one of them reads the manual either! One of them could always tell me exactly how everything fit together and what every part did on stuff we'd get in at the office, and would start modifying things from the get-go etc. I'd look in the shipping container and all the manuals, warranties, etc. were still in the bottom of the box, in the plastic.

I'm a techie myself, but sometimes I think I should trade in my cred card because I'll always read the manuals. But then again, part of my former job was to write the darn things, so maybe that's my excuse. :ugeek:

BrandyJane,

Forgot about the Kretassan Plasma injectors. Seems like StarFleet plasma injectors were junk.

EntAllat

I'm one of those read the manual types

All

Keep 'em coming and thanks

Speaking of reading manuals.....the crew had access to other technologies with scans, searching logs for information to help, working with components, finding data from future ships/equipment, etc....and THIS crew would be able to use that data in such a way to discover connections and uses within their current technologies to improve and advance it.

The Axanar ship in Fight or Flight
Daniels' equipment in Cold Front, Future Tense, Shockwave and Storm Front
Klingon ship in Sleeping Dogs
Eska night goggles, firearms in Rogue Planet
Kantare ship/shield in Oasis
Communication leaps in Vox Sola
Retelllian cargo ship and escape pod in Precious Cargo
Small Arkonian ship in Dawn
Future Tense pod and its 'black box' and organic circuitry
Experiences of the crew in The Crossing, detailed in their logs.
Vissian technology shared in Cogenitor
Unknown alien ship in Anomaly, as well as the sphere they entered.
Medical data from Extinction aliens, and from Dear Doctor.
Xindi cannister and rifle in The Shipment
Lyssarrian DNA could code information in Trip after Sim's death, and Sim's logs could have unique input, Similitude
Xindi future enhanced equipment taken by ENT in Carpenter Street, Proving Ground
Andorian information gleaned in Proving Ground
Xindi reptilian ship in Hatchery
Any alien enhanced additions from Lorian's Enterprise in E2.
Shared info from Xindi aquatics and primates while coordinating against reptilians
The Kir'Shara would have been a great source of information in Kir'Shara, and Archer has access through Suraks' katra
Access to drone in Babel One/United/TheAenar
More Klingon data of ships, medical data, facilities in Affliction/Divergence

These are just a brief note of these possible points of gaining information to be used in advancing technology and data for Enterprise and Starfleet. You would need to review these episodes to get the details. Hope this helps!!!
TRIP: Hold on. You never said anything about feet.
T'POL: Is that a problem?
TRIP: Well, for one thing, I haven't had a shower since this morning, and I know how sensitive that Vulcan nose of your can be.And I'm a little ticklish.Maybe more than a little.

Is that what you needed? I can research further for specific technology. I am still learning all the details myself! :)

*snork* Now I am positive you are an engineer (not that i was in doubt!) since you answer with one word! This is just how my son, an engineer, also answers my texts, it is a game we have.....him being as succinct as possible, me catching the underlying thoughts. We are very good at it, and it gives us a fun connection! Others think I read his mind. Mama knows best !
