Falling Skies

Is anybody here watching the new show, "Falling Skies"? It seemed to hit the ground running with the pilot and I'm enjoying it so far.

We thought about watching it, but it conflicts with a couple of other programs we already watch (In Plain Sight and The Glades) and we don't have Tivo, so we're thinking about getting the DVDs when they come out. I have to admit, I was a little squicked watching the commercials when I realized that the aliens were taking children and attaching whatever those things are to them.

I've only seen the first episode and to be honest I'm not too impressed with it.

Okay, I really do like this show. It's got a little much of the predictability factor, some stereotypical characterization that's not all that great, but it's surprised me a few times and sucked me in despite the few flaws.

But now ... GAH! I have to wait a whole year for the next episode! Season two doesn't begin until next summer. That's after having waited a whole year for The Walking Dead to get to it's next season!

It's like waiting for fanfic writers to write the next chapter of of a story you're intrigued by ... oh. Wait. Maybe I should go finish my fic ....
