I've read By the Book twice now - and I actually enjoyed the RPG chapters. But, I guess that's because I've role-played myself for around four years. Not going to spoil anything, but I enjoyed it.

Finished now :D I did find the RPG stuff interesting at first, because I've never played RPGs so I was all "... oh, so that's how it works". But I felt like it was holding up the plot a bit later on. I frigging flipping flanging love the both the aliens though - I agree with Reanok, I liked how really properly alien and interesting they were. And the failed first contact scenes are brilliant. :D

So the only pre-relaunch one I'm now missing is Surek's Soul. The amazon reviews don't look that impressed with it - any thoughts on if it's worth it?

I've got Surak's Soul. It's quite interesting, and personally, even if the reviews didn't look impressed with it, i'd read it anyway. I enjoyed it though - but some people enjoy different things I guess. I'd say to give it a try though.

And I managed to convince mum to let me order Broken Bow today. Hopefully It'll arrive on Monday.

I liked Surak's soul Hoshi and Phlox have an important role to solving the mystery in the novel and Malcolm and Trip also have some good scenes in the novel.I liked the look into T'Pol 's past in the book as well. The novel isn't one of my favorite Enterrpise books but I still like the crew gets more to do in this novel that is important part of the novel without giving away major spoilers since you haven't read the book yet.

That's good to know, it's the little character moments that often make these books for me. Think I'll give it a shot. Also decided to catch up on the relaunch novels I haven't read (only read The Good That Men Do, still in denial and not blown away by the writing).

Destinye - will be interested to know what you think of Broken Bow.

About The Good That Men Do, I'd say that the authors did their best to patch up on the fails of TATV.

And I'll let you all know what I think of Broken Bow when it arrives and I read it.

I'm hoping to finish Myriad Universes; Shattered Light by the end of this weekend. I'm about halfway through the second story.

I like Broken Bow there's some great scenes with the characters in the novel things you didn't get to see on tv. i think the novel does a good job introducing Archer and the Enterrpise crew.I liked how Admiral Forrest and Jonathon Archers friendship shown in this book i liked the scenes with Trip and T'Pol and the the arguments they have and the fact they finally start working together when it comes to rescuing Klang from the Suliban.

I think I have all of the Enterprise books, and finally read them. NOW I want to read them again in chronological order (Stardate order) and see how that flows. I planned to reread the relaunch books again before the newest one was released, so this will be a good way to start!

In reference to Broken Bow, Shockwave, and the Expanse, I like the way the television episode is there, along with deleted scenes AND especially the thoughts of the crew while those scenes are playing out in the book. It makes the next time I WATCH that episode somewhat different than before, and that is always a treat! :)
TRIP: Hold on. You never said anything about feet.
T'POL: Is that a problem?
TRIP: Well, for one thing, I haven't had a shower since this morning, and I know how sensitive that Vulcan nose of your can be.And I'm a little ticklish.Maybe more than a little.
