It turned out to be a good thing, in the long run. ( . . .) And I figured out how to change the database passwords and make the cookie settings better! So, while it wasn't fun, good things came out of the mess.

OK, l think this explains why I was getting:

GENERAL ERROR
SQL Error [mysqli]
Access denied for user 'delphicadmin'@'local host'(using password:YES)[1045]
An sql error occurred while fetching this page.

when only clicking on the forum bar on the main page late yesterday afternoon. Archive was a general fail at that time, too. Ya gotta love computers! They have such arcane ways of saying, "Kiss off, sucker! I don't want to deal with you!"

Right! That was me changing the password. It only took less than a minute, but you had the bad luck off surfing in at that time. Sorry! I pretty sure even if I had taken the archive and forum offline, they still would have given that error while I was updating the .config files to reflect the new, not-easy-to-guess database password!

I'm just glad that's all it was. I recognized the SQL as pertaining to the database and kind of figured it had either self-destructed or someone was working on it, so I went off and watched Ken Burns' Baseball after work. Kinda beats the permanently banned message, though. That one left me wondering what the bleep did I do NOW?
