Photoshop help?

Postby Aquarius » Thu Mar 03, 2011 5:59 pm

Hey--I found a bunch of really crappy drawings I did back in '91. I scanned them, they looked fine in the scan previews, but once I got them uploaded to Photobucket to share, they're too light. Can anyone help me with a Photoshop tweak to make them more legible? I have gimp but to be honest that thing just confuses the hell out of me after having Photoshop Elements on my old computer.

Thanks!

PS the drawings really are stupid and awful...don't judge me...but I was having too much fun laughing my butt off when I found them to not share them!

Try adjusting the contrast higher. You can try "auto contrast" or "brightness/contrast" (which is manual). Select "Image" and from the drop down menu, choose "Adjustments." You can choose either contrast adjustments there. (I'm assuming it's the same, I don't have Elements. I have PS7.)

I don't have any photoshop at all any more. I just have gimp. I'll give it a whirl but I kind of hate it after being used to the other one.

Picasa is a free download that would let you adjust the contrast. Photobucket also has an editing function with contrast and light/dark options.

I couldn't find it on photobucket! Grrrr! LOL

I just gave it a shot with gimp, posted the results in another thread. You can mostly read them now.

Wheter or not you'd want to is another thing now! :flush
