That hot chick you meet on vacation is bad news

Postby Honeybee » Thu Sep 30, 2010 6:15 pm

So, it seems to be a universal truth that in the Trekverse, the hot chick you meet on vacation is working with the bad guys. Just off the top of my head:

Picard and Vash
Archer and the dog lady
Riker and the woman who got him addicted to the game

can anyone else think of good examples?

Also, this rule was also proven untrue if it is a female meeting a guy - as Hoshi proved in 2D2N.

Hey! how about Dr. McCoy and the two playboy bunny wannabee's in Shore Leave?
That seemed to work out okay. :D

My husband and I were just watching that episode with Picard and Vash a couple of weeks ago, and it was completely cracking him up how Picard seemed so irritated by all of the attractive women who kept hitting on him. As my husband said, "What's a guy have to do to get all these hot chicks to leave him alone to read his book in peace!" Maybe Picard was aware of your hypothesis and was trying to avoid the Hot Chick on Vacation Syndrome.

Duh - I also forgot to mention Trip and Malcolm getting rolled in 2D2N. Their hot chicks also turned out to be trouble. And not chicks. :damnfunny

I don't know if it was really a "vacation", well, they weren't "working", but Trip and the Xyrillian on the holodeck and the "magic rocks"? from "Unexpected"?

girls are nothing but trouble!
