Here's a vid by CJ from 2003 that I loved so much I saved it to my computer. I just found it the other day and boy am I glad, because I can't find it online anywhere else.

It's gen, from S1 and S2, and I thought at the time that if UPN could make promos as good as that was, they would have had an overnight sensation.

It may not be as sharp as those made today, but I thought it was fab.

I found this vid on my computer (I have a lot of those, don't I?) but I have no idea who made it, there is no attribution at the end.

I'd actually been searching online for this a few days ago and found bupkiss. So I was thrilled when I realized I had it!

It's late Season 3 Archer. Quality of the clips is iffy because it was done probably in 2004 or 2005. But I love the pacing and the concept, even if the execution is a bit rough in spots.

One of the few vids I've seen with extended use of Degra and his relationship with Jon.

Great article. I especially liked this part:

But vidders shouldn't be treated like pirates, Tushnet argues. They're people responding to culture in noncommercial ways. Coppa adds that these days, YouTube functions as the public square of yore.

I see fanvids as the same as fanfiction. They are generally free advertising for the shows they are based on, since both the videos and the fanfiction assume the that the viewer/reader will have seen the show and is familiar with it in order to understand the story or experience being created in the piece.
