Book Discussion Moved from Malcolm Trip Frienship Thread

From the Relaunch series to the Glass Empire stories, talk about Enterprise profic here.

Plus I think that in general, spy stories flourish in a prose format - the strongest part of the last book (RW) was the spy intrigue. Large scale space battles aren't quite so interesting in prose as on screen.

I have to agree Honeybee. What I did enjoy of the two Enterprise relaunch books that I've read so far was how Trip willingly got pulled into the Section through Malcolm and how he uses his people skills, even more than his engineering skills, in this new endeavor. Yeah, and Malcolm's cardinal rule: The girl is always in league with the bad guys.

As far as I know they haven't done one for Enterprise yet. There is going to be a Doctor Bashir Section 31 novel a first in a series Called Typhon pact Zero Sum Game by David Mack.It comes out in October.

I heartily second that sentiment. That would make for an EXCELLENT book and it's an obvious choice for the next in the Section 31 series. I hope some good authors are out there pitching a idea for it.

Hell, I hadn't thought of that line at all when I was thinking about the ENT line. Does anybody know if the S31 series has different submission rules than the generic ones Simon and Schuster puts out for the entirety of the Trek line?

I hope there'll be some non-relaunch ENT books too. Don't get me wrong, I like the relaunch but sometimes it's nice to get a self-contained episode book like much of the TOS books were. In the ENT line we've got one book focusing on Malcolm, one on T'Pol, one on Hoshi and then a couple of ensemble books. It'd be nice to see a pre-launch book that focuses on Phlox and Denobula and one on Travis and the Boomers.

I agree with you on that.

Well, based on interviews by several cast and crew of ENTERPRISE, they were taping the Mirror episodes when they got the call that the series was cancelled, with no promise of any other Star Trek series on the horizon. I think we had the possibilities of continuing in the vein of season 4 into seasons 5, 6, and 7 (also verified in interviews by Coto) had that storyline been allowed to go on. Demons and Terra Prime were already outlined, as well as a season opener for season 5, though that was very vague. Informed of the cancellation, B&B chose to write TATV as their last episode, and based on the latest interviews, I chose to believe they truely did not mean to make it so controversial, and most definitely were apologetic for alienating all ENT fans.

This would have made ENT have it's own unique stories, yet also have the tie-in to TOS, those lost seasons we were all denied, which would have helped lay to rest most of the criticisms along that line. Would that we had seasons 5, 6, and 7.
TRIP: Hold on. You never said anything about feet.
T'POL: Is that a problem?
TRIP: Well, for one thing, I haven't had a shower since this morning, and I know how sensitive that Vulcan nose of your can be.And I'm a little ticklish.Maybe more than a little.

fans still want standalone novels for T'Pol Phlox ,Hoshi, and Malcolm fans voted they wanted to see a Section 31 novel that deals with Malcolm's past as a spy for section 31.I sure want to see a T'Pol novel that deals with her past on Vulcan before she joined the Enterprise crew.
