Enterprise S5

Thank you to Honeybee for allowing me to start a topic for Enterprise S5 (S5 stands for Season 5), but first a little bit about us...

From our website:
ENTERPRISE S5 was originated by TrekUnited.com co-founder Thomas Moore and started as an outline for a fan fiction version of an Enterprise season 5. With the help of other TrekUnited members, Tom developed a 20 episode outline for this project. The original outlines accompany the videos at the original EnterpriseS5 Blog.

Some years later, seeing not much had been done with the project, Pauline Mac - at the time, a new member of TrekUnited - found herself with a desire to help bring this project to reality. Without any experience and never having made a video in her life, Pauline put together the original 5x01 For I Have Chosen the Path Unseen using Tom's outline as a guide. It combined existing screencap stills from Enterprise, a written "subtitle" narrative and a music track to accompany it. Hoping to learn and improve upon her first attempts, Pauline requested the assistance of other members.

It was at this time, Alyson Lee offered to assist Pauline with writing episodes in a more traditional sense, switching away from narration in favor of dialogue. It soon became clear the stories would be limited by the screencaps that were available. Alyson offered her graphics skills as well and now the possibilities are no longer as limited. With each new episode, Pauline and Alyson continue to improve their technique, be it graphics, special effects, sound effects, music editing, or storytelling.

But perhaps the most interesting bit of all, this colaboration happens across a span of more than 9500 miles/15288 km (Pauline on the East Coast of Australia/Alyson the East Coast of the United States). Despite never meeting - not to mention confusing time/day differences - they continually manage to work extremely well together to bring you episodes they hope you will really enjoy.

So, the purpose of this thread is to post the short stories where you can provide feedback, good, bad or indifferent, doesn't matter because it's all a learning experience for me.

Without further adiue, here is the first short story for episode one...

For I Have Chosen The Path Unseen

And here is the second short story for episode two - just released...

Talons In The Prey

I have started on the short story for episode three, but me thinks that will take a bit longer. Eventually I will be making huge changes to the first short story - I think I've come a long way since I first wrote it, so please be kind when reviewing!

Oh, you can also view the videos from our website!

Oh, and one other piece of news, and not many people are aware of this, but Manny Coto - which we all know who he is, is fully aware of this project, and has, in actual fact, got everything in his hot little hands. One can only hope that TPTB will also become aware of it and support our little endeavour! One never knows, but I'm not holding my breath! Plus, I was also told that the actors, and some of the effects people on the show, were also going to be approached about S5 - to what end, I'm not sure. But, since I haven't heard anything back about this yet, I'm not sure if it even happend or what the end result was, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

Anyways, thanks again to The Delphic Expanse for your support, and for teaching me so much about writing. Eventually I will write a really kick ass story.

Anyhoo, review away!!!

I have rewatched all of the episodes at the website, and am so happy the conclusion to Phlox in Law is up and ready for viewing. The short stories are also a wonderful read, drawing you into the characters and their thoughts more fully. Then when you watch the videos again, it just adds more depth to the viewing and enjoyment!

Thanks Pauline!
TRIP: Hold on. You never said anything about feet.
T'POL: Is that a problem?
TRIP: Well, for one thing, I haven't had a shower since this morning, and I know how sensitive that Vulcan nose of your can be.And I'm a little ticklish.Maybe more than a little.

For those of you who follow this endeavor, there have been some developments.

It seems that CBS have taken exception to our little videos. Youtube have deleted 2 videos due to complaints from CBS with copyright, one more complaint and my channel gets deleted. So here is the plan.

Alyson and I are looking at alternatives for posting the videos for S5. If YT cancel my channel we will continue S5 through our website.

So if, in the near future, you are unable to access my youtube channel, or view the vids from my website, still go to our site at: Enterprise S5 to watch the series. If this does happen quickly (which it seems to be), please allow us some time to get things sorted.

So, not to worry, we will continue the adventures of our intrepid crew, it's just a shame that we will lose 1 and 1/2 years of history and the potential for bigger viewer ships.

I will post any updates here when I know more, or when things change.

Thank you one and all for your continued support of our little endeavor. Who knows, maybe this will be a good thing!

Okay. So - that happened! Youtube cancelled my channel overnight. :(

However... all is not lost, we shall start afresh on the website, but it'll take time to get things up and running.

I will keep everyone posted.

Today, I came home, then turned the PC and went to my favorite you tube channel and then another abomination, as the one at the end of enterprise wasn't enoug  h. To sumn it all, the day before was one of the worst days of this year, all went wrong, all that could.
So if any suppport is needed I will gladly give it.

Thank you sooo much for your continued support, TripZG!

Yes, it is disappointing, but we shall carry on none-the-less. Alyson has already re-loaded the deleted videos on to the website:

Enterprise S5 Episodes

However, part 2 of ep 15 will be delayed for a number of reasons. With losing my laptop I've had to download another software which is taking some getting used to, and I'll be moving again this weekend so it will be impossible to find the time to complete part 2. By the end of the weekend I'll have my new computer and possibly a new editing program (If that's the case then I will be on another learning curve, if not then I'll continue to use the new program). So, I am hoping that it will only be delayed by a week.

Hang in there! We'll hit our stride once again!

Awe... Thanks for the support, Trip-ZG!

Hopefully part 2 will be up this weekend. I've encountered a few problems with the video editing software that I'm currently using, so it's been fiddly and time consuming. But, Sunday (Australian time) is the day that we are aiming for.

If there are any more problems I will post an update here, but I don't anticipate that there will be. *crosses fingers*
