Favorite Adversary

Who did you most enjoy seeing Archer and the Enterprise crew facing off against? Here are a few possibilitities, focused on recurring characters.

Of course some of them began as adversaries but became more than that.

I voted for Arik Soong. Why? 1. The actor played Data and I love Data, 2. At the end of the arch, the concept of Data began, and 3. He was always one step ahead of Archer not matter what. Unfortunately for him, his augments were not what he'd hoped.

I'm going for Shran - because Shran episodes are good episodes - and I love Andorians.

I chose Degra. Though their interaction was initially based on a deception, Jonathan and Degra managed to work past that to learn to trust one another. That trust saved both their worlds. I only wish Degra had lived to see it.

I love the way we got to see his character develop over the arc; he provided a great deal of what we learned of Xindi culture and values.

Shran. Not only because I enjoyed his portrayal on the series, but because he's so much fun to write.

This was a difficult one for me! I loved Dolim, he was creepy and ruthless, which appeals to me, but overall Shran is one of my favourite characters, I love all of his story arcs and his developing friendship/rivalry with Archer was a great aspect of the show.

Daniels was also fun because I've got to support my homeboy Matt Winston, but he was less of an adversary and just a hindrance from time to time.

Wow, Shran's winning by a landslide!

I picked him, too. I loved the dynamic between him and Archer: "I don't want to like you but I respect you so it's kind of hard not to like you--but I still don't trust you!"

It was hard... It was a toss-up between Arik Soong and Shran.

(Soval is hands down my favorite recurring character but the Vulcan Arc made him an ally... and that's how I prefer to view the character).

In the end, I chose Shran. Jeffery Combs did an awesome job with him!

Shran he was a complex Andorian Jeffrey Combs created an unforgettable character.

I'm also choosing Degra, since I think Stratagem is one of those great, underrated episodes - and Degra is a very interesting adversary because he thinks he's doing the right thing but is very wrong.
