Mistress Euclid's AT&T Series

Postby Mistress Euclid » Thu Sep 16, 2010 5:29 pm

Yes, I hereby announce that after I complete Equilateral, my E2 fic - I have plans for AT&T stories:

1) In the Mirror Universe
2) In the RU (post Terra Prime)
3) In the Twilight-verse (sort of)

I shall not spoil anything - but I did want to say that at the close of my current opus, the pairing still remains close to my heart.

My goodness. You are correct.

I should have said the triad remains close to my heart, but conventional habits die hard, even for one such as myself.

ME, I want this to not be taken as criticism merely as a question. I dearly love Equilateral but in chapter sixteen T'Pol almost seemed whiny about the pon farr. I guess it's because I always envisioned it as a time when a Vulcan felt powerful and at liberty to completely let go.

I realize that she is young and this was her first, so taking that into account I guess it was understandable. Do you feel that the average Vulcan would be in misery during pon farr and after, or revel in the opportunity to let go as their biology demands? As I said would they not see this as their heritage and the Vulcan way?

I think it's the idea that they all think it's shameful that bothers me.

Ah - yes, bluetiger - it should bother you. It bothers me as well, but fear not, the shame will be dealt with.

I was first inspired by the shame apparent in Spock in Amok Time, but since I do not believe a natural biological cycle should be shameful, and I think with proper family guidance and in a Vulcan marriage, T'Pol would not have reacted this way. But since she is without attendance by other Vulcans and her mates cannot fully comprehend her situation - it will take some time before she lets go. By the next Chapter, she will come to see the Pon Farr as a very positive thing indeed - it's just a struggle for her to get there.

You are correct. T'Pol has no guidance from a knowledgeable Vulcan so I guess her confusion is more than understandable. Sorry to get ahead of you.

I just could not stand the thought of her being ashamed of a natural function. A woman thinking sex is shameful bothers me, but as you pointed out, it is the circumstances that she is in that are unique.

In many ways T'Pol is just a frightened young woman. Finding her way is difficult.

Thanks for discussing this with me :D

Not at all! It's wonderful to discuss it. T'Pol is confused and frightened by the pon farr - she needs both her mates to show her there is no shame in this.

She enjoys her sexuality when not in pon farr, but this is on a different, primal level. She's always chosen to engage in sexual relations, she's not had to do it - and that does frighten her.

I saw the chapter.

And while I think I sort of understand bt's reaction...I can understand the need for...how to put it? In order to show T'Pol *becoming* okay with it, she has to first be shown in the *not* okay state, so we can see *how* she got there. It's the journey that's important.

Do I have that right, ME?
