Vulcan wedding? Earth wedding? Or living in sin?

Assuming we ignore TATV, how would these two spend the rest of their lives together?

Vote and discuss. 8)

Okay, see - I've done a lot of different timelines in my stories:

My Family Secrets Timeline: Traditional Vulcan Wedding; Reception thrown by Trip's parents.
E2: Traditional Vulcan Wedding, but by Archer
Twilight: Living in Sin, but Syrannite married
Mirror Universe: Syrranite married
Relaunch Books:
Syrannite Married

How can you not ignore it! It was a holoprogram! (but let's not get into that)

Over the 3 years of my Enterprise fandom, I've read different fic with a Trip & T'Pol wedding in it and I've read it done on Vulcan, On Earth, in a church and by Archer. For some reason (and I'm not sure why), I've always thought that if we saw them get married on the air, it would have been by Archer, on-board Enterprise surrounded by friends and family. That would be my favorite scenario. It just warms my militant TnT shippin' heart.

It appears that in the only official continuation of the Enterprise Story; The Re-Launch Books, our favorite couple are sort of "Living in Sin, but Syrannite married" ... for now.
The connection that she and Trip had shared was no mere casual dalliance. It was identical to the link that united two of her oldest friends in the bonds of Syrrannite marriage. And that makes Charles Tucker my mate, she thought ... TRW:BTRW

I have my own idea about this subject but I'll refrain from talking about it because it'll get written soon enough.

There are so many weddings in fanfic, but I chose married in space by Archer. I however wanted it to be fun and different. My Trip and T'Pol wedding is about as none traditional as you can get.
The funny thing is I was in the middle of polishing 'You Are Cordially Invited' when I took a break to check the forum so I was in full wedding mode  spooky.
Anyway I resent that pajama party was not an option :damnfunny

Can't they run away and marry in Vegas?

I liked the idea of a small Vulcan wedding with friends. But the marriage in space and getting married by Archer is also one of my favorites.

Gosh, this was tough! I'm not sure I liked any of the choices, so I had to do it by process of elimination.

They wouldn't shack up, because I think to both of them, the implied commitment of a ceremony would be important. And I'm not sure they'd have Archer marry them, because I have a feeling that might be awkward (although I can totally see Archer being the best man -- or giving away the bride).

Not a civil ceremony, because I get the impression tradition means a lot to both of them.

So that leaves a Vulcan ceremony or an Earth church wedding. I finally decided that they'd have an Earth church wedding, because T'Pol would understand how much that means to Trip, even though he might offer to go with a Vulcan ceremony for her sake. But she has few relatives left, and might not even feel the need to follow Vulcan norms.
Old enough to know better, but that's never stopped me before.

I went with traditional Vulcan wedding -- that would be for RU T/T.

MU T/T on the other hand -- total shack up. :p

Even in my "Reflection" series they consider the bond marriage enough for them.

I have this mental image that because of the Bond, the Vulcans (at least the new regime) recognizes them as being married.

But for it to have a legal standing on Earth they have to have a ceremony, and that's where Archer comes in. He'll perform the ceremony on board the ship in much the same way as Kirk did (or tried to do) in Balance of Terror.
She's got an awfully nice bum!

I don't know if it has ever been put that way onscreen, but in the RW book Martin says so and writes the story that way. He calls it a Syrannite marriage - and I've always agreed. Bond=Marriage. Any ceremony is a formality.
