I laughed myself silly through "Rom" and "Nog's" appearance on stage. (The actors came out in costume and gleefully switched between being themselves and being in character and breaking the fourth wall while doing a skit.) I had no idea Ethan Phillips could be so hilariously dirty. He was a hoot! I missed a lot of the Next Generation crew, since I wasn't at the convention while they were on stage but did get to see them in the vendors room.
The last Star Trek convention I went to was a Las Vegas one - HUGE and encompassing and enormous space. This was so much smaller that I was taken aback at first. It was a lovely, intimate feel though I didn't care for the (loud!) band on stage on the first day, especially when there was so few people. I know there were a few sensory sensitive folks and general introverts who fled the room that first day for quieter spots.
But Saturday especially brought a great crowd, great energy, and lots of fun that ended in karaoke night with Connor and Dominic. (Terry Farrell and Nicole de Boer were there as well.) That felt like a highlight of the convention, honestly. They were great hosts, and everybody was getting into to it, cheering everybody on stage, whether they were good (and there were some awesome folks!) or hilariously bad. Connor invited everyone on stage for Guns and Rose's "Dead or Alive" (and played air guitar) and encouraged everyone to really get into David Bowie's "Space Oddity". Dominic get a conga line started for one song, and really got into "I'm all about that Base".
I had to leave early on Sunday, so I actually missed the Enterprise panel(!) and Shatner, but the party made up for it. I got a ton of pictures of course, with ten really nice ones of Connor and Dominic to share here. All my ones of Jeffrey Combs and Vaughn Armstrong came our blurry.
