New to the Rewatch Chats? Here's the scoop!

Chances are you're here because you've seen an invite on Facebook, Twitter, or another Star Trek site. Often times, newcomers aren't exactly sure what we're doing or why we're doing it, so here's the upshot, with helpful hints and links.

Basically, once a week, we all get together online and watch (on DVD or the web) an episode of Enterprise. We've been watching them in order.

While we watch, we all meet up in a chat room and talk about the episode. It's the closest we can get to watching it together in the same physical location! Good times are had by all.

You do not have to belong to the Delphic Expanse in order to participate in the chats, but our forum rules do extend to the chats, so it's a good idea to read them, as well as the community FAQ thread, which can be found here.

Our community caters to a diverse group of fans. We have members who enjoy various pairings, both het and slash, and some who don't 'ship at all. Also, for the purpose of the chats, we're all gathering to remember the show fondly, view the show through the lens of time passed as well as gain insight from other people's POV, and love the show for what it is. A certain amount of tolerance is required in order to play in our sandbox. Be forewarned, we have no interest in hanging out with haters or people who want to just beat the same old dead horses that are no longer relevant because the show has been out of production for several years. We also have zero tolerance for 'shipper war bullshit.

If you're cool and just want to have a good time socializing with other fans, welcome aboard! 8-)

Sometimes the nights of our parties change. We try to have it on a night when the most of our interested members can attend. We usually do it on a Tuesday or Wednesday night, but we've been known to do it different nights if people have something else going on, etc. Sometimes we've even done more than one chat in a week, if the people who care most about an episode are divided on what day they can do it.

We try to Tweet about a day in advance when we're going to do it, but sometimes we get busy or forget. While it's true that you don't have to be a member to participate, the best way you can keep up with when we're going to have each week's party is to register for an account here, then subscribe to the schedule thread, making sure you've checked the box to receive topic reply notifications. That way, when we post to the topic, you'll get an email telling you to come check, and you'll know when the next one is. Also, as a registered member, you'll have input on what day/time it's best for you to have the chats!

Also, part of the fun is discussing the episodes afterward! Each episode we've watched so far has its own discussion thread, which you can find here. You do have to belong to the Delphic Expanse to participate in the thread discussions, however, since only registered members can post to the boards.

Hope to see you there!

If you're joining us for the first time and running into trouble trying to connect to the chat, Here are some tips:

* You can choose how to login - with Twitter or Facebook - or you can just create a name.
* If you see only a blank black screen and no login option, try a different browser or a different version of your preferred browser. It does tend to just sit there with a blank black page before showing the login in some older and not-so-older browsers.
* You can @reply me on Twitter if you need help. @EntAllat
