On the Art of Storytelling

This interview with host and producer of This American Life, Ira Glass, is geared more towards those doing storytelling in television and radio (especially part 4) but there's excellent advice here for those who spin written yarns too.

And for those of you who self-flagellate and are convinced that your own work sucks, or never quite measures up and you wonder if you should even be writing? Go watch part three. Right now.

You know, I was only going to watch part three, but I found it so relatable to writing fan fic that I had to watch all four parts, and found advice and nuggets of wisdom in all of them. Thanks for posting the link.

I heard that part of the interview before--a few years back--and it was a huge help for me. I always think my work is terrible, but I take comfort knowing that the more I write, the closer I'll get to becoming the writer I want to be. :)
