I don't think you're weird Eireann. I don't cuss, either. I don't get too bothered by other people who do, though, unless my little girl is with me. I've actually always wanted to meet Dominic because I think it would be really interesting to see how different he is in real life from the character of Malcolm. But then again, I totally understand how you wouldn't like that if Malcolm is one of you special favorites. If I found out that Connor's personality was somehow completely, radically different than Trip's, I don't think I'd want my illusions shattered about that. One time I made the mistake of watching a bunch of interviews with a certain actor and reading a little of this person's Twitter feed. Big mistake! The actor came across as so unbelievably dumb that one of my favorite characters was ruined for me, for a while. I eventually got over it and was able to separate the actor from the character.

Regardless of Dominic's use of language, he is very gracious and nice to his fans, as Mr. Smith pointed out. And he's never mean-spirited -- it's not like you're getting cussed out or something like that. I would describe it as more mischievous, fun-loving, and wild.

That photo is hysterical! Man, I love behind-the-scenes stuff like that. Where did you find that paulinem?

(As a aside, on the subject of shattered illusions: the first time that happened to me, I was twelve and it was an author whom I'd idolized. He turned out to be a first-class dick in real life, and I was crushed for a while. But once I got over that I had to admit that it just showed all that much more how talented a writer he was, to have come up with he'd done. Since then it's never bothered me to get to know the person behind the art. Dominic actually reminds me an awful lot of my best-friend-of-more-decades-than-I-care-to-admit, language and all, so I have a soft spot for him.)
