I heard about this on NPR while running errands this morning. Very sad. That book was a big part of my childhood. Everybody's, probably.

FYI, the series of interviews Fresh Air put together are utterly amazing, including one he gave last September where he talks about grieving for his lost family including his beloved brother as well as his partner of 50 years. Everyone should listen. The world has lost a truly great man.

I was shocked to hear he passed away. I remember reading where the wild things are when I was a kid the art in that book is really unique
