RIP Whitney Houston

It's not a total shock, but it sure is sad. She had a great voice, and she made great pop records.

I certainly loved her first album when I was young.

Wow. So sad. What a waste, she was so talented and so lovely.

I know, right? I'll just try and think of her as the exuberant young woman belting out pop songs that she used to be:

No autotune necessary.

This is the isolated vocal track for "How Will I Know?"

Incredible voice:

I consider her one of the greatest voices of all time, a lot of people tried to sing her songs but no one got close enough in my book, well we knew that she had a lot of problems, I guess that it was too much. We will allways remember her as a Diva.

So sad! She had an incredible voice. I always hoped that she would make a comeback and put her troubles behind her.
Old enough to know better, but that's never stopped me before.

I've always thought we should change are national anthem here in the United States to something non-professional people can sing, but if we had done that before 1991 we wouldn't have had Whitney Houston singing arguably the best version of the Star Spangled Banner Ever:

Emotionally, I was more affected by the death of Etta James, because I was a huge, huge fan. But Whitney's death has reminded me just how good she was and how rare a talent she had before drugs destroyed her.

Here are a few more of her hits with lyrics:

I Will Always Love You.

How Will I Know?

Where Do Broken Hearts Go?

Didn't We Almost Have It All?

So Emotional.

I was listening to them yesterday on YouTube for another project and was stunned to see the headline on my Comcast home page when I went to shut down. Such a shame that she's gone so young and had such a difficult life despite her talent.

She was an inspiration to a lot of today's even younger singers. It occurs to me that the songs above might be an inspiration to some of our TnT writers. I Will Always Love You has got to be Trip's theme for the relaunch take on TATV.
