Valentine's Day 2012 Challenge

As we're just wrapping up our Holiday Fic Exchange challenge today (which was another great success, I think!) it's time to think about our next "biggie": Valentine's Day!!

Since last year's playlist challenge for Valentine's Day was responsible for, I feel, some of our best fics in the archive, I thought to myself, "Self? We have a recipe for success. Why not give it a go?" So here we are.

Now that the holidays are over and the Christmas Fic challenge is behind us, I'd like to start a new challenge in time for Valentine's Day ... but with a twist.

This is a music inspired challenge! There will be a ten-song playlist. I'll take sign-ups from now until January 15. You can sign up in one of TWO WAYS: 1) entire playlist or 2) single song.

Playlist: Your challenge will be to create a fic inspired by the tone of the entire playlist and incorporating a line/lyric/concept from at least five of the ten songs somewhere in the fic.

Single Song: Your challenge will be lottery-based. I'll draw a number and you'll have to write a fic based on that playlist number's song.

I will close this sign-up thread when I go to bed on the 15th, and then reveal the playlist sometime on the 16th.

Fics can be any rating, any pairing and any length, any style. That's your choice and the idea here is to have a lot of new stuff for the DE archive on and around Valentine's Day. The absolute deadline to have your fics in is February 28 -- that will give you six whole weeks to work! As this is a Valentine's Day challenge, your fic's theme should somehow revolve around love.

Once you've written it, get it beta read, and submit it to the archive!
