Okay, just some preliminary things. I'll probably post more later as the discussion gets going, but off the cuff these are the things that stood out.

T'Pol was freaking awesome when she was ordering Travis to stay on course. Just saying. 8-)

A couple of folks in the chat referenced things being MASH like, while Trip, Malcolm, and Hoshi were playing poker. I thought that was quite apt. The whole "Broccoli?" thing was hilarious.

Really thought Malcolm should watch out with the complaining to Chef about "pot roast AGAIN???" All I could think was, dude, you must REALLY want him to spit in your food!! :o

Jon play acting = epic.

Jon really loves to playact. He does it all the time.

Random responses:

The episode really looks pretty.

Trip looks good hot.

Jon and T'Pol are funny when they get on each others' nerves.

Another favorite episode! :D

Danny Goldring is totally cool as the bad guy (great voice).

I love how they made the set look twice as big as it really is.

And, of course, I love the Archer & Trip and Trip & Snippy!Malcolm scenes.

I've always enjoyed this one. My favorite parts, though, are just the crew hanging out in the catwalk. The drama with the aliens is okay, but it's definitely not the reason I wanted to re-watch this episode. Two of my favorite parts are when Jon helps a member of the crew with a crossword puzzle and the movie night scene at the end. I know this is during the TnT dry spell, but it makes me happy that Trip invites T'Pol to attend future movie nights. I also like how they continue to play that up in future episodes until she finally does go see "Frankenstein."

I'm sorry I didn't make it to the re-watch yesterday, however, I know this ep almost inside and out, and when I do watch it I can't help but see images from a smut NC17 story - Kiss, in my mind...

Apart from that, I've always enjoyed this episode. I love how Travis and Trip work together in getting the catwalk all set up, Trip's temper tantrum with the aliens, Malcolm's snippiness... Aw, ya know, there was just so much in this episode that it was highly entertaining. I can't wait to watch it again...

Oh, Kylie Lee's Kiss is a classic Archer/Tucker story. Great stuff - and it does center around this episode!

I too love the little TnT movie night interaction, even though there isn't supposed to be a spark, I see a spark there. What can I say, my ship goggles are welded on, man.

I like the little crossword scene, though that crewmember looks barely out of high school. I once read that she was a contest winner.

I do like the crankiness as the situation starts to get to Trip and Malcolm and even Archer and T'Pol, but in the end, the whole crew pulls together.

The storm special effect is pretty.

The Catwalk is one of my top ten favorite episodes of Enterprise. I'm not even sure I can articulate why it's my favorite, since it encompasses everything from good camera work, cool angles and perspectives, a real sense of community, great characters, a good story, humor, mystery, suspense ... and great blooper reel moments. This is one of those episodes I can just pop in anytime and watch again and again and again.

First of all, I love the homages to M.A.S.H. throughout this thing. It had the feeling of a bug-out, and the poker games with the food ration packs were just AWESOME. There was even the mess-tent movie night moment. Love, love, loved it.

I've always enjoyed shipwreck and doomsday stories, where the heroes have to make-do and create a livable situation out of duct tape and coconuts. (Yes, yes, I loved me some Gilligan's Island too.) So the need to turn a space that was not intended to house 80+ people and a dog was really neat. Seeing Phlox try to pack up all of sickbay ... you don't realize how much is stored away until you have to move it all. I've done that way too many times in my life. I thought it was a nice touch to have Phlox say he was unaccustomed to making emotional appeals to a Vulcan, and have T'Pol react with more sympathy than some humans would. AND he was doing this for his critters ... so much for the idea that Denobulans don't keep pets. :D He grew attached to all his creatures!

The wave front itself was beautiful - as storms often are. Deadly they may be, but they can be artworks of nature to look at from space. That was a nice line that Archer had about not expecting it to be beautiful. There was also so much unspoken between-the-lines stuff going on in his conversation with T'Pol. Despite her protestations that she was not good at fraternizing with the crew, she knew exactly what to say and what NOT to say to them. And she figured out the plot of the movie. :D It was just adorable all the way around.

The aliens for this episode were also great. They were believable as conscientious deserters and in what little we learn from them, it sounds like a fascinating and complex culture, worth revisting. I particularly liked the way the scene where they reveal the truth was staged. And then Archer, T'Pol, Trip and Malcolm walking and talking ...

Yeah, I could keep going. Suffice it to say it's definitely one of my favorite episodes - for every single moment of it. Well done.
