I second Similitude, though I must confess I was tempted by Bound - as it gave us the bond - and that's just been wonderful for us fic writers.

Similitude, Bound and Terra Prime. Similitude, because it was such a rich episode, Bound because of the bond and the nice, lighthearted way TnT came together and Terra Prime, because it's so beautiful (and makes it my number one TnT episode.)

I remember the first time I watched Similitude. I actually gasped when T'Pol kissed Sim. I thought it was the most beautiful gesture anyone could make, much less a suppressed Vulcan. That simple gift to a man about to die for the sake of another. That was when I was sure T'Pol had a heart worthy of Trip. There could have been no more meaningful gift to that young man who loved her. Makes me want to cry. I know, I'm a sap!

Right there with you. I particularly love the episode because it's such a SciFi-ish love story. Sim may not actually be Trip, but he is essentially Trip (if that makes sense), and he does what Trip would do, sacrifice his own life for the good of the ship. By seeing that, T'Pol sees into Trip's soul, if you will. It only makes sense that she would kiss him goodbye.

I also think she must have been grateful to have an opportunity to see what it would be like to kiss Trip, without any consequences. All in all, it was an absolutely lovely and heartbreaking moment.

Dude everybody's picking the same two episodes! And I confess I almost picked "Similtude", but what tipped the scales for me were two things: How TnT galvanized into Momma Bear/Papa Bear modes when they found out about their baby, and how at the end...you get the distinct impression that T'Pol would very much like to have Trip's baby.

I chose "Home", although it was a hard decision.. they are all good for TnT development. But I just liked that T'Pol trusted Trip enough to bring him home to Mom and into more of "her world". And how Trip admitted to T'Les about how he really felt about T'Pol, and that he could love her and still let her go. And I also think she totally gave her true feelings away with the kiss before the wedding.

I couldn't possibly decide between all of those. If I HAD TO, maybe I'd pick "Home" but for reasons that are more personal than TnT fannish. I'd add "North Star" to the list even though it's not really TnT centric, just for that horse riding scene.

I might even add "Strange New World" to that list. Just for the thing with the scorpion in tent and "Do you require assistance?" from T'Pol...and the whole "Did you shoot me last night?"/"I'm afraid I did" exchange.

You know, that's why I started a Season One and Two - moments thread - TnT were a B plot (even in Harbinger). Their romance is made up of moments - not big episodes. But it's the power of TnT - in Harbinger a huge, huge plot point regarding the Sphere Builders is revealed in the episode. Does anyone remember it for that?
