Hi everyone -

We've heard about a few strange technical problems this morning, including cookies being messed up enough to keep knocking people off (I've experienced this myself) and someone who was not banned getting a message saying they were!

If you have anything weird happen (beyond the cookie problems we know about) let us know!

Just wanted to take a sec to ask everyone for a couple of favors. (I'll also post this down in the forum issues section but this is quicker for now0.

1. If you receive an error message or email from the board that you believe to be in error (ie, like if someone else accidentally gets an email that says they're banned0, please help us out by forwarding that message to us in its entirety.

2, if you are going to solicit help from more than one mod/admin, please cc both in the same message instead of sending separate messages. Sometimes we admins spin our wheels duplicating efforts or pursuing false leads if we don't know to talk to each other.

So, me, a site founder that cannot technically be banned from this board, just got a message saying I was permanently banned.

So, the message to you all is: if you get one of those, it's an ERROR. Banning is something we would only do to a non spammer after multiple warnings. So, please, do NOT freak if you get this message.

More on this. All the problems are connected.

Some people are having problems retaining their logon. At each screen, they are knocked off.

If they keep logging in, as the site asks them, for some reason this triggers our anti spambot protocols and you get a message saying you've been banned by IP. But you haven't, as near as I can see.

We're working on this! Let us know if you are having this issue, so maybe we can id the people who are.

Still getting logged off every once in a while, and I did get a couple of "You are banned permanently" messages. One time was when I was trying to log in, another when I used the arrow at the top of my browser to go back a page while logged in.

Here was me thinking I'd got away without getting hit by any of these issues and then I get kicked off. Took me about 5 minutes to log back in. Haven't received any messages - yet.

I've logged on using my laptop from school as well as home, and from my phone, and I haven't had a single problem

Just out of curiosity--what browser are you guys using?

I've had problems with both Firefox and Safari on my Mac.

I'm having the same problems. I use both Firefox and the latest version of IE.
