Spock's Katra Fanzine Pitch
I realise that your focus is Enterprise but I thought I'd post this up here to keep you in the loop.
I'm putting together a fanzine called Spock's Katra to honour the passing of Leonard Nimoy, the third digest in our Personal Logs series. As fans we are the custodians of the legacy of past actors and authors, whether they are from recent memory or from the turn of the last century! Fan fiction writers especially are the instruments of the immortality of past genres. It can be a homage to John Carter of Mars which accurately reflects the canon and style of Edgar Rice Burroughs or it could be a Post-Apocalyptic Punk appropriation of Romeo and Juliet!
I would like to invite submissions for the 'zine, to give you a chance to throw a personal light on what Leonard Nimoy and Spock, the character who he brought to life, mean to you. You might have seen him on re-runs of the Original series, or the guest appearances he did in Star Trek: The Next Generation, you might remember him from the Star Trek movies or from his cameo in JJ Abrams reboot of the genre. In some way, he and Star Trek have touched *everyone's* life. What was it about the character that has made the concept of the logical Vulcan such an integral part of Star Trek, indeed a milestone in Western pop culture?
The selection criteria for the 'zine are on our Facebook page...

This is very short notice so I am flexible about what goes into this issue but the usual mixture for an issue of Personal Logs is...
- One major work, up to novella size 17,500 words
- Two short stories under 7,500 words
- At least four flash fiction between 300 – 1,000 words
it goes without saying that I would also be delighted to get original artwork or poetry. I'm hoping to get some guest articles and/or interviews as well but nothing is confirmed as yet. If you want to look at some of the other work we've published, feel free to browse our website...
