While I put this episode in the 'good, not great' category, it had some very nice moments:

Archer and Travis in the 'sweet spot'. Actually, Archer gets pretty emotional in this scene.

Trip and Travis :hearteyes . I love their 'big brother/kid brother' relationship. Too bad those scenes are so rare.

The movie night b-story. Fantastic!

Indeed, I think this episode is most notable for the only real TnT stuff we get all season outside of a few moments. I wonder if the B plot here was what pushed them over the top as far as making the decision to go with TnT in season three.

And yes, it's Travis's interaction with Enterprise's crew that's interesting, not the A plot on his parents' ship.

I love the look Trip gives T'Pol when he initially brings up movie night. I wish I knew what was going through his head. It sure sounded a little like he was casually asking her on a date, but then that probably isn't what he had in mind, given where they were in their own relationship. Then when Jon actually does go there and call it a date, well, it cracks me up! I really don't think he meant it romantically, but T'Pol looks a little freaked out. The whole thing is just great, especially the scene at the end where she starts talking about the protagonist and how Soval needs to show it to the rest of the Vulcans.

As far as the A-plot, I felt kind of bad that I just didn't care more about Travis's family. I always wondered about them, always wanted more boomer stuff, but, when we finally got it, I just felt kind of "meh" about Mayweathers and the Horizon.

Just had to quote this and say "ditto". We don't often get to see a Trip and Travis dynamic on the show, and it's so nice when we do. It also served as an interesting contrast to Travis's relationship with his actual brother. And the "sweet spot" conversation was just right.

I agree with everyone else on this one: for some reason this just doesn't stand out to me as a memorable episode (despite the fact is has awesome pre-TnT and A/T type moments in the B-story). But here's the bizzare thing, it's an absolute gold mine of information and details about Travis that are great for fan fiction, and that show up in fanfic a lot. And now that we've watched almost all of the first two seasons, I can say that same thing about many of the less memorable episodes - they're filled with all those little details we use, sometimes way more so that the episodes that are our fan favorites.
