First, a confession: I haven't re-watched "Cease Fire" lately. I've been so swamped at work that I haven't had much leisure time, period. But it's one of my favorite season two episodes because Trip comes across as so strong and competent. This is the episode that really makes me think that Trip could have his own command, if he wanted it. I also enjoy the way Jon and T'Pol work so well together down on the planet. The missing scene between them in the shuttle pod, where she admits that she often disagrees with the High Command, is great! Finally, I thought it was really neat to learn that, like T'Pol, Soval had a background in intelligence.That, combined with the part where he takes her to task for "giving up a promising career," is just begging for more back story between the two. Soval and T'Pol have such an interesting dynamic. I think that on one level, due to his own (secret?) friendship with Admiral Forest, he probably understands why she chose to stay with the humans.
