Well, it took me awhile to give this one a try. Silence of the Lambs gave me nightmares but I love Bryan Fuller's writing. Wonderfalls is one of my favorite shows ever, and so sad it never caught on. I generally don't like gore, either. But I gave this a shot and ended up binge watching the first season. I love, love, love the conceit that Will is too empathetic to function and Hannibal has no empathy so functions beautifully and they are opposites. MM does a beautiful job as Hannibal, as the show hinges on the audience liking him and seeing why people would want to hang out with him. Beautiful accent, beautiful suits, beautiful house, beautiful office...cheekbones to die for. And I think Hugh Dancy matches him. The gore is so over the top, that I can tolerate it.

I also think that if serial killers with the thoughtful performance artists they are in this show's universe, we'd be more tolerant of them.

I am also very happy to be a vegetarian while watching.

So, Hannibal has been picked up for a third season. It was on the bubble but is gaining momentum, at least from the celebration in my twitter feed. Yeah!

Now, I shall have a friend for dinner to celebrate.

Oh....last night's episode was good. Very good. Things were revealed. Still iffy on Mason Verger but as far as having a character that creeps Hannibal out, that is a good thing.

Eeeeewwwwww.......wow. This show is insane. I hate gore. I had horror movies. It's just a testament to Bryan Fuller's great writing and the amazing cast that I can watch this horror show. Seriously. Crazy. Episode.

Well, last night's season finales was a grand opus...it out red weddinged the red wedding in terms of violence, twists and shocks but would have been incomprehensible to someone who had not see the whole of the series prior due to the many callbacks and references. Yet, I can't articulate how amazing and satisfying the show is. Sure, it's only two seasons, but it kills. *snerk*
