Anyone watching the new series? I think it's quite well done.

Not yet. I don't get any of the channels it's airing on, but I'm planning on buying it to watch via NatGeo or iTunes (or whatever it becomes available on). And I'm going to see Neil deGrasse Tyson speak in person in a few months, so there's that. :D

I remember the original Cosmos, and Carl Sagan. I hope this version lives up to that, and I expect it will. I'm curious to hear what others think about it.

You can watch the first episode on Hulu for free! I don't think it will be free after that, so I am going to try and watch it live next week.

I'm enjoying the series so far, but I'm not enjoying Hulu's offering of it - they place the commercials on a timer that's meant it cuts off Neil mid-sentance several times, completely ignoring the broadcast's own commercial breaks. Argh.

I love this show. Absolutely love it. But then again, I've loved Neil DeGrasse Tyson since his "can't we just get back to science" (as close to his quote as I can remember) on Bill Maher's show.

His personal story about Carl Sagan gave us chills.

THIS.

BTW, I love hearing Sagan's voice every once in a while on that program. As much as I am a fan of Neil, there's something a bit otherworldly about Carl Sagan's voice and manner of speaking. Neil, like me, love science and the universe. Sagan was making love to science and the universe.

I loved, loved, loved the personal story about Sagan and I love the honor the show gives him. Sagan did have great voice.
