Since Lady Rainbow has written an ENT/Torchwood crossover fic, I thought I would start a Torchwood thread.

I will being by sighing the words "Captain Jack".

I ♥ Captain Jack. And Ianto.

Gwen, not so much. I dunno...she's an OK character, but she rubs me the wrong way.

Tosh is awesome. Just made of awesome.

Owen...it took a while for his character to grow on me. But I kinda liked him at the end.

Worst.Torchwood.Ever: CoE. Being a Mum made it hard for me to watch the whole "let's-exchange-the-kids" thing and they killed off Ianto!

*flails* I LOOOOOOOOOOVE Torchwood!!! :smitten

First of all: Owen and Tosh--Heartbreaking!!!

James Marsters--wonderful appearance.

And, on the Torchwood forums at BBC America, I know Gwen Cooper/Eve Myles was taking a lot of crap, but personally I LOVE her.

In my mind, after Children of the Earth: Jack has gone away to heal. Maybe he finds the Doctor and rides with him for a while to get perspective. Gwen isn't content to just have her baby and be a wife and go back to an ordinary life. She IS Torchwood now. Yes, it's dangerous, but it's *because* of all those dangers she feels the need to press on in whatever capacity she can--keeping the world safe for their child and all that. Rhys doesn't like it but ultimately can't argue with her logic, let alone say no to her. So maybe it's a thing that starts with a couple of laptops in their basement...and maybe they enlist the help of Gwen's former partner Andy from her police days, and maybe that woman from Children of Earth who helped them. Together they start rebuilding Torchwood from the ground up. Eventually Jack returns, because he knows this is what he was meant for...probably not surprised that Gwen carried on, because that's what she does.

Any way, those were my thoughts not ten minutes after I'd finished watching Children of Earth. I always swore I'd find time to write it, but it hasn't happened yet.

I just hope they don't screw it up with the US version.

I thought for sure you'd have some things to say about what the show has done to introduce different sexual orientations to mainstream television.

It's aaliiiive...

So, this is the third episode of Starz Torchwood and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Since its in the US, I find myself saying, "That wouldn't happen over here" and quickly pulled out of the story. I don't know if it's also because I missed "Children of Earth". It seems like it doesn't require full knowledge of what happened... but you never know.

Also, I've always loved the "idea" of Captain Jack, but once I noticed something while watching the show a while back, it's been bothering me ever since.

However, the idea of this miracle does seem interesting and tonight I loved Captain Jack's comment about the rod.

Sorry if this post seems a bit scattered. I have insomnia and it's taking its toll.

I've been enjoying what's been screened so far on the BBC, but I really miss Ianto. Sigh.

For me, Childern of the Earth was one of the best episodes in scifi I have seen in years. I don't know if the choice of the goverment to choose the "strong" childern above the "weak" childern and sacrifice them was meant to be an analogy of nazism. But if it was, it was spot on. For me it made it even more chilling. The aliens were really scary, creepy and "alien" and Jacks decision at the end was very emotional. Great stuff, if you haven't seen it, please do!

This week we were finally able to watch BBC one on our television ( :cheering ) and we watch the second episode after the Miracle Day. I really like the Britisch setting, but even when the episode took place outside Britain, I liked it all lot.
Glad Jack recovered! Looking forward to the next.

Torchwood is one of the few reasons I really miss my expensive cable box. But I can't want to see these new episodes!

I get cable for free at my apartment, but I have to pay extra if I want Starz. I'm just not financially positioned to do that. Though I think if I go to BFF's house, I might be able to watch them thru On Demand there. They're huge DW/TW fans, so I don't think it would break their heart to hook me up. It's just a matter of freeing up the time to watch TV at someone else's house.

Torchwood seems to be missing something without Ianto
