Just watched it today on Netflix. Gareth Lloyd Davies as Watson and Dominic Keating as Spring Heeled Jack.
DK can really chew up scenery!

and GLD does a LOT of running around.

Interesting! I have heard of that movie - I think a lot of fans discovered it around the time the RDJ/JL movie came out. Is it worth seeing, aside from DK?

As I recall, Honeybee, the reviews were all thumbs down (with or without Mr. Keating). The consensus was that the makers were hoping people would confuse it with the other Sherlock Holmes movie out at the time. I'd rather have the complete Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes set from PBS or, for sentimental reasons, even all the old Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes movies remastered by the UCLA Film Archive.

It definitely wasn't anything to write home about. DK's role wasn't a big one, even though he was the villain. (He wasn't even in it for the first 20 min-half hour or so, and his character was kinda like

). And poor GLD didn't do much, either except run around and get knocked about.

Most of Conan Doyle's work is public domain in the US, so it doesn't surprise me a company would try and piggy back onto the Guy Ritche Steampunk film.
I didn't even care much for the latter, so I think I'll skip the former - though I will check out DK's performance if I stumble upon the thing on cable.

I have the nasty habit of picking up all the bad movies Dominic ends up in, just because I like to see him (and all the wonderful ways that this characters often die), but yeah, it's a terrible movie and poor GDL doesn't even get to do much, even though he looks crackin' with that moustache.
