House

I just saw a commercial for the season premiere tomorrow and I'm excited. Heck, I was excited before the commercial!!!

So the season before was a tease but last season's finale was not at all. And the commercial shows that we get to see the morning after (YAY) with House being... House.

I may be the only one but I'm giddy. There have been rumors that the show only has one or two more seasons before they decide to end it on a high note so I'd like to see my favorite surly doctor have a happy ending.

Yeah, I was like :rolf :rolf at House's remark in the commercial!

I must admit that I didn't like House much at first, but he's grown on me.

I have this weird habit of sticking with procedural shows for about a season, reaching my fill - and then catching them occasionally. I did this with House.

However, I've been a big fan of Hugh Laurie since Blackadder, and I'm glad he finally became a star in America. He does a great American accent.

I also enjoy all the Sherlock Holmes references - since the creator of the show has basically admitted that its Sherlock Holmes in a hospital.

House=Holmes, Wilson=Watson, Vicodin=Cocaine, Piano=Violin - with the "team" thrown in as part of the Watson dynamic.

Is that premiering tonight? I've got the DVR set for it. I have never ardently followed the show (I only follow very few like that)... but I'm pretty sure that I've seen most of the episodes in every season, and since I had the spot open to record, I decided to record it.

Dunno when I'll get around to actually watching it though. LOL I record a lot of things and watch them like a month later when I have time. :p

Yeah, it was tonight. The scene where she kissed the scar made me blush more than any other scene in the ep. It felt like House was completely naked and I was watching something very private between two people. Those two are wonderful actors.

Not sure where the writers are going with the relationship... but it is interesting. And yes, I was so amused when I realized it was Hugh Laurie playing my favorite character in "Sense and Sensibility" as Mr. Palmer. Not to much of a difference from the character House but awesome all the same.

I just got around to watching the premiere today.

Since I am not a shipper... (only TnT have ever gotten that distinction from me)... I have mixed feelings about what's happening here with House an Cudy. I rather liked the teasing dynamic they had between each other and I probably would have been just fine if that remained the case for the rest of the series. (I watch for medical marvels, not relationships).

So, I say, if they are going the "House & Cudy are a couple" route, I really hope they don't play the same, stupid game that the ENT writers did with TnT in the fourth season. Ugh. That would make the show less fun to watch. Let them be a freakin' couple -- sure they can fight and learn how to not let it affect their work relationship... but none of this, "I've changed my mind, we can't be together anymore" crap. That parting shot between the two of them seemed to indicate a whole lot of "UGH!" for my viewing enjoyment.

I think the end kind of reset the season but with the two as a couple. The ep was about them trying to work and be together. The last scene, I think, hinted that they were not going to keep the two apart because their last discussion was that they would be brutally honest with each other to make it all work. That sounds like typical House/Cuddy to me. And I'm thankful for this because whipped house was grating.

Count me a House fan now. I just Netflixed the first season and I'm catching up. So far I really like it.

If you are a new viewer, it's fun to watch for the Sherlock Holmes references, peppered throughout the series. I enjoyed it for the first couple of years. Then, it reinvented itself with new "ducklings" and all that - I haven't kept up with it. But Hugh Laurie remains fantastic.

I've been a Hugh Laurie fan since "Sense and Sensibility." His part was small but memorable. I used to watch "House" religiously, but lately it's more off and on. The season where he was in trouble with the police because of drugs sort of turned my husband and I both off. He's a lawyer from a cop family and I went to law school myself, though I don't practice. I know it's a medical show, but the legal inaccuracies drove us both nuts. After that we had a kid and it's always on we're trying to get her to bed. I did make a point to watch Jolene Blalock's episode. I always did want House and Cudy together. If I keep hearing good things about this season, I'll have to go back and catch up with it on Netflix.
