Just curious if anyone has seen this movie. A gentleman who posts on an MT board I visit now and again blogged about it in his culture blog. That's the first I'd heard of it. It's apparently been released in Canada since this time last year but has only recently had limited release in the US (West Coast for sure) as far as I can tell. I haven't seen it advertised in Chicago, but since
At the Movies with Ebert and Roeper went off the air I haven't been keeping up. Anything Egyptian tends to get my attention and Mr. Siddig isn't looking bad either.

I've not seen the movie yet, but I read an interview with AS about how proud he was of it. I think it's on his website. It looks pretty good in the trailer.

I read a rave review of it, which came out after it screened at a festival. It's not playing here yet, but I definitely want to see it.
I loved "The English Patient" and this one looks like it has a similar vibe, if not being exactly the same.

I read this topic earlier today and had never heard of Cairo Time. Then, sitting in the waiting room today while waiting for my son to finish at the dentist, I was reading a two-month old entertainment magazine and came across a little blurb about it, just enough to be tantalizing. It sounds like an interesting movie.

Here's a link to the
Rotten Tomatoes page about Cairo Time. Patricia Clarkson is a great actress. She's been in a lot of supporting roles in art films over the years and was great on Six Feet Under as Ruth's younger, hippie sister.
