Anybody here watch this show?

It's not one of my absolute favorites but the premise has kept me intrigued despite some iffy episodes. The technology behind the production is just as interesting -- lots of green screen work for extensive 'sets'. Sometimes it works really well and sometimes it doesn't but it's still fascinating.

In fact, that's my impression of it entirely. Sometimes it's really good and sometimes it's really bad in everything from the sets to the plots to the acting. The lead guy has never grown on me, but I do like Amanda Tapping's character and everything Christopher Heyerdahl plays. "Henry" is my favorite though and "Telsa" was also a pretty awesome character.

EntAllat, I've had similar feelings about the show and tonight I finally figured out what bothered me that I couldn't completely love it.

They've taken the fear of relationships to the extreme. Instead of establishing the relationship and playing "will they, won't they," they simply don't have any.

They gave Will his invisible girlfriend just long enough to kill her. Since the beginning of the show, they had the characters flirt with each other then nothing. There was actually a hint that Momma and daughter Magnus were both after Will, then nothing.

Kate replaced Ashley and they've been doing the same thing with random flirtations between Will/Kate and Henry/Kate. It was tonight when...

Spoiler... Kate kissed Henry before... um... disabling him and realized I actually like the pairing. A lot.

but then realized that the show would just fall back into their pattern of endless, pointless flirting.

They need to grow a pair

Well, they've certainly come a long way since last year especially with the relationships thing. Almost everyone is in one! This season's had me pretty interested in each episode, and I love the new situ for Henry. ;)

Also, just like the last few minutes of The Walking Dead, the last few minutes of Sanctuary's Monsoon had me all   and then HUZZAH! I hope this one lasts. Could be interesting.

I did manage to watch the first season, and some of the second, but it left me feeling lukewarm, so I never really sought it out after that. However, it's moot now since I don't get scifi (which is where it runs in Australia). If it ever appears on free TV then I might watch it again.

EntAllat, for me, this is the problem with the show. It's wonderfully brilliant at establishing relationships, but the follow through is woefully lacking. Continuing relationships are not even side stories but plots that pop up here and there with barely a mention in between. On one hand I can understand because I believe their budget can only handle so many regulars at once, but it makes the "jumps" in the relationships feel forced. Henry's situation seems forced because of it. Will's is growing on me (probably because they've been building it for a few eps now), but does that mean they will kill her some time by the end of this season? And Magnus's started off great, but I hope they continue to build on it too.

Not to mention, Kate's (last year) interested me the most because it was the whole human/abnormal and his whole community thing going on. Not happy that they didn't pursue the story in that.

That being said about the relationships, the action has been awesome enough to keep me interested. But they can only crank out so many high adrenaline eps. They need substance for the characters' emotions rather than have them on display once in a while.
