I had a similar relationship with the Tudors as I did with Enterprise. I love Jonathan Rhys Meyers and tuned into watch him, but I soon became fixed on the best friend character, also named Charles. Henry Cavill had utterly sizzling chemistry in all his scenes with the actress who played Anne Boleyn, but even the Tudors, which played fast and loose with history, didn't dare have Anne and Charles Brandon hook up. In real life, Charles Brandon hated Anne and not in the sexy way he did on the show. LOL

JRM was a bit miscast as Henry VIII - and they never put him in a fat suit. Or gave him red hair. Or made him over six feet tall. But the show was fun.

Henry Cavill was amazing.

As for Superman, I really wanted to like Superman Returns a few years ago, but that movie was so slow and leaden. I have amazing respect for the late Christopher Reeve's performance in the 1970s films (the first two anyway) because he really was true to the character and made you believe lines like "I'm here to fight for truth justice and the American way" - without any irony.

Henry Cavill will hopefully be able to do the same, and he's got a good American accent, too.

I am curious to see what they do with this Superman movie. The only things I like about "Superman Returns" were Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor and the plot with Lois Lane's son (mostly because of the reveal with Kevin Spacey). Honestly, I think they will have to start the story from the beginning in a modern world, unlike SR where it was a continuation of the other movies.

It's doesn't feel so much like an "event" when they just roll right into a reboot. I thought there was enough time between the Batman films, but then again, I didn't see the later ones. I only saw the first two.

I actually like Routh and thought he did a pretty good job at both Clark and Supes - admittedly, no one will ever top the late Christopher Reeve, but Routh did, I thought, a pretty decent job. And the thing I liked the most about the movie is something they also did in the more recent Hulk quasi-reboot - they didn't bother retelling the origin story again, but just jumped right into it. I wasn't that big a fan of the kid - not that big a fan of Lois' to begin with - but the reveal with Spacey was awesome. "Oh, its time for us to leave." Heh.

As to this reboot movie, the one thing I'd like to see them avoid is having Luthor in it in any fashion. Yeah, Lex is a Superman staple, but he's kind of boring. I want to see Superman wailing on an equally powerful villain. Bring in Brainiac or Metallo or Mongul or anyone that Kal-El can go toe to toe with. (Superman's two biggest problem? His power level is insane (who can take him one really?) and his rogue's gallery kind of stinks. I mean ... Toyman? Really?)

Sort of related (comics-based), what about Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger? I love how Marvel is tying all of these movies together (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America) and leading up to The Avengers...

If you have never seen the Swedish horror film "Let the Right One In" - I highly recommend it.

I'm actually quite curious to see the Russel Brand remake of Arthur. It looks substantially different enough to be fresh but still true to the spirit of the original. What's curious to me is that Russel Brand is playing him more like a man child than the alcoholic from the first film. Oh, and Hopson is a nanny and played by Helen Mirren:
