Non Enterprise 'ships

While most of my trek shippy-ness stays focused on ENT, I do like some other pairings. In particular, I found Ezri Dax/Bashir really brightened up the last season of DS9.

I also liked Paris/Torres on Voyager. And Crusher/Picard had their moments on TNG.

On the negative side, never liked Worf/Troi. I wanted to like Worf/Dax (love their wedding episode) but it just never spoke to me the way it should have.

And I on the slash side, I'm totally in the Kirk/Spock camp.

Can't say I was a fan of anything related to Ezri but I was a BIG fan of Paris/Torres until they became a couple. The two characters had so much baggage, it would have taken way more time to resolve all of their issues and if the writers didn't want them to have a rocky marriage, then they should have waited and allowed them to work crap out.

I didn't like Worf/Troi either... actually the relationship creeped me out. But I did absolutely love the Worf/Dax relationship because of the difference in personalities and (in a way) age.

I can't see original Kirk/Spock but can definitely see new Kirk/Spock having a thing.

I will add two more relationships.

Odo/Kira. There were a lot of characters on DS9 that had growth but I think those two had the most, slowly. And it was fun to watch them become the kind of people that could be together.

Data/Yar, strangely I've always kind'a liked this pairing but a bit of fanfiction gave them a permanent place in my heart.

Okay, I confess, I'm a total Data/Yar sap! 8)

I also love Picard/Crusher. "Attached" was total crack for me for MONTHS. Back in the day my mom and I recorded all the episodes on VHS. I wore that one out.

Spock and the lady Romulan Commander. That was just...hot.

I didn't really actively ship for anybody else, though I confess wishing Seven and the Doctor got it together...and was a bit mystified by the Seven/Chakotay thing. At STLV, Jeri Ryan was asked which she though Seven should've been with. She gave an answer that I know Mistress Euclid would appreciate:

"Seven should've been a polygamist!" :rolf

Okay, here's the thing about Riker/Troi... I didn't really know what to make of them during the show and was not a fan of Riker but after reading "Imzadi" I'm still not a fan of Riker, but I LOVE the Riker/Troi relationship.

I'd have to say that Amanda and Sarek are my favorite "other Trek" couple. Jane Wyatt and Mark Lenard played them with such dignity and grace that it was totally believable to me that such different people could get together and make it work.

I think this is part of the reason that I resist the Trip and T'Pol 'ship. OK, I like the characters (T'Pol is starting to grow on me), but having them together and having their own kids and the like just seems to me to undercut what was supposed to be the rarity of a successful human/Vulcan marriage like Sarek and Amanda's. I'm not ready to go there yet and, quite honestly, I don't see it happening any time soon.

It would have been very unconventional to get Seven together with the Doctor, however I saw more chemistry between her and the doctor than the other men on the show. I also saw some femslash potential between her and Janeway - and I'm not usually a femslash fan - outside of Willow and Tara on BtvS - but chemistry is chemistry!

I enjoyed them very much as well. So much so, that I found myself irritated that Sarek has married another human in TNG's Stigma. That was an otherwise excellent episode, but the Not!Amanda bugged because real Amanda was special, imo.

Oooh... just remembered. I know there are many that don't like the pairing but I LOVE the new Spock/Uhura. Did I mention love?

I wasn't sure at first, but I thought the chemistry between the actors sold it.

Oh man, I am seriously with you. Awesome, awesome!!

Sarek & Amanda have my heart.

Otherwise, I didn't really ship for anyone in trek other than TnT.

I do like the book Imzadi, though. Nice background story for Riker/Troi... but I'm not sure that I could see Riker settling down.
