Hello TDEers....


So, I thought I'd open up the forum to ask what other fandoms people are currently into.

I've recently joined the ranks of Fannibals online (that's Hannibal fans) which is really interesting. It's one of the fastest growing fandoms and apparently produced as much for tumblr as established fandoms like Supernatural, Dr. Who and Sherlock it's first year airing. It's a show where the creators encourage online interaction, the creator Bryan Fuller live tweets the shows and there are official character twitter accounts (at least for Freddy Lounds).

I watch Game of Thrones, but I wouldn't say I'm part of the fandom. Ditto with Dr. Who.

I've written a fic or two for As the World Turns (I miss that old soap, and I was into the Nuke ship).


So, whether it's a Game or Anime, besides Trek, what fandoms are you into?

Labyrinth

Marvel (specifically the Thor films)

I'm on the periphery of the Sherlock BBC and Once Upon a Time fandoms.

I've written fic for all of the above (only a teensy bit for the last two). I am, to this day, the most prolific in the Labyrinth fandom. My ships are Jareth/(grown-up) Sarah, Loki/Jane Foster (don't ask why; I haven't figured it out, myself), Sherlock/Molly Hooper (I actually ship the cross-fandom crack ship Khan/Molly Hooper harder), and Killian Jones (Captain Hook)/Emma Swan.

I've recently stepped away from the Tom Hiddleston fandom (the guy who plays Loki in the Marvel films) because the wankery was ridiculous. I may or may not have dabbled in RPF for a bit there. (No self-inserts or Mary Sues--and nearly all of the stories are actually AU. Ha!)

Shows I love ardently but don't participate in the fandoms at all: Doctor Who, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries (my guilty pleasure), Firefly, Burn Notice, Arrow, and Person of Interest. It seems I only really delve into a fandom when I actually ship a pairing from the show--enough to want to read/write fanfic about it. I have a ship (two, actually) for TVD, but the way the series handles the pairing is satisfying enough for me.

Currently, the biggest one I'm involved with is the Addams Family - the 1964 show more so than the movie.

I've also written in the following fandoms:

Star Wars (Han/Leia)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Spike/Buffy)
HEX (Ella/Leon)
Buck Rogers int he 25th Century (Buck/Wilma)
Doctor Who (hints of Ten/Rose)
and for the last 4 years there's been a Torchwood/Buffy crossover "in progress"

I read a lot of fandoms, and I do mean a lot. Currently though I only work in three others besides Enterprise.

Star Trek: Alternate Original Series (the new movies)
Tolkien, which I count as one fandom even though I write both Hobbit and LoTR fic.
BBC Sherlock

I'm very careful to specify BBC Sherlock for that last one, because a great deal of the original Sherlock franchise is in the public domain. And though you can find it on fanfiction sites, stuff dealing with a certain body of AC Doyle's original Sherlock stuff are technically not fanfiction.

In the future I hope to add NCIS, Buffy, Sentinel, SG1, and Stargate Atlantis to the list of fandoms I've worked in.
