I just heard Elizabeth Taylor died. She was the last great movie star, I think.

It's not considered the best movie ever, but I always thought she was a magnificent Maggie in the film "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof".

Gawker did an amazingly brief but accurate obit for Ms. Taylor here.

Angelina Jolie take a good look, if you can do all wild and crazy things Elizabeth Taylor did with the same class, aplomb and charm - you'll be okay!

One more note, one of the commentators said something about hoping in heaven she's breaking up card games by young hustlers by giving them diamonds. I concur! That's one of the greatest cheesy and wonderful commercials of all time.

I saw her when when she was on General Hospital. I don't normally watch soap operas, but for some reason, I was watching it then. (I was either unemployed or home with the kids when they were small.) I remember thinking at the time that she must really like General Hospital if she was on it.

I believe yes, she was a fan of that show and called the producers up and volunteered to be on it. It was huge at the time. I was too young to be watching (and lived overseas) but I heard about it later. She apparently played a villain.

Yeah, that was during the Luke & Laura era. Elizabeth Taylor made a great villianess, all diamonds and attitude.

I loved the fact that years after Eddie Fisher left Debbie Reynolds for Liz, the two women met and Debbie Reynolds thanked Liz Taylor for taking the jerk off her hands! They joked about it and were friends ever after!

I've seen clips of Liz as Helena Cassadine, and it was awesome.
