Lesson 1: The Basics

Alrighty, here we go! This first lesson is just to get you used to opening up your software, importing and exporting and doing something very basic.

You'll first need to download this video (for the workshops I'm going to use old NASA footage since it's in the public domain) of the First Moon landing from 1969:
Right click on this link, and choose "save link as": Workshop Video

In your chosen video editing software - Movie maker or iMovie:

(1) add a black title screen
(2) add black screen at the end with a quotation of some sort
(3) export the video to an mp4 file

We'll get fancier later. Take your time! The next workshop won't be until well after Thanksgiving. If you have questions or run into problems, post 'em here.

I'm thinking of posting the second lesson, something a little more involved. How's everybody doing with this one? Did you manage to find time to try it out yet? Any problems with your software? Does anybody want to share their finished attempt?

I'm gonna have to catch up. Things are insane between now and finals.
