Want to run this past the artists...

I had an idea and I wanted to see what the artists think.

I thought about the idea of you guys continuing to post your art down here, but also in other appropriate sections of the board. For example, if you have a TnT picture, post it here as well as in an art thread in the TnT section. Archer/Reed can go here, but also in a thread in the Archer/Reed section, etc.

It's a little extra work, but the purpose behind the idea is two-fold:

1. It'll get you guys more exposure. While a lot of people come down here to look, many don't. Some because it doesn't occur to them, others because of the misguided belief that they'll somehow get a raging case of the cooties if they have to look at pictures depicting anyone but their OTP.

2. It might spark discussion in those particular areas.

Non-shippy art can also be posted in other areas, too. For example,if you did a T'Pol portrait, I'd say it would be appropriate to put it in the Jolene appreciation thread, since you apparently liked Jolene and her character enough to be moved to draw the picture. Likewise, say you drew Trip and Malcolm in a non-slashy context, that would totally be appropriate in their Bromances and Other Friendships thread.

I like the idea very much. I had a similar thought when I wrote my last drabble, about also including it in the drabble thread. However, I was afraid you might think it was pushy to have it in two places. You are correct that many people don't check out the fanart thread. I will be happy to do whatever the majority decides.

I'm curious, what about pictures of Enterprise in general? The ship? I can't see what out forum it'd go into.

It sounds like a good idea having pictures posted in the different forums like TnT and other relationships or individual portraits.

Oh, I think this idea is fine. It's also perfectly okay to post your story say, in the challenge thread if it is in answer to a challenge and in a shipper thread, if a 'ship is in the story.

If you wanted to, you could start an art thread in Episodes, Arcs, and Seasons. I hadn't thought about that when I made the suggestion, as characters and their relationships (and the people who play them) seem to be the biggest draw for our community, but yeah, I'm sure that there are members who are just as unaware of gen art, too.
