At the suggestion of Crystalwolf, I'm opening this thread for people interested in betaing. Just because you list yourself here, doesn't mean you are automatically committing to beta - just that if you have time, you would be, depending on the project.
Here's little form:
Name:
Pairings I Write:
Will I beta smut:
Will I beta outside my pairing:
Strong suits:
Weak suits:

Name: Honeybee
Pairings I Write: TnT primarily. Recently, Archer/Reed. Have also done R/S, A/T and many others.
Will I beta smut: Yes
Will I beta outside my pairing: Yes.
Strong suits: Character stuff. Voice. Pacing.
Weak suits: Fine tuned line editing.
Send files in what form: I write on a mac, so doc, docx or pages files work.

Pairings I Write: Tnt is my main inspiration
Will I beta smut: Yes
Will I beta outside my pairing: Yes.
Strong suits: I tend to catch missed spelling errors, human behavior that may have crept into Vulcan characters and simple grammar and punctuation. Can help as a second beta to catch what may have slipped through.
Weak suits: complex grammar and punctuation.
Send files in what form: doc, rtf

Pairings I Write: Archer/Reed, Archer/Tucker
Will I beta smut: Yes
Will I beta outside my pairing: Mostly -- some restrictions apply for personal reasons, I certainly support anyone shipping their own thing! No Tucker/Reed, no Reed/Hayes, can do some Reed/Sato, I think anything else should be okay
Strong suits: Typos, grammar, in character, flow, overall impressions
Weak suits: I don't always know T'Pol very well, but I know what sounds like her. I also don't tend to have large chunks of time, so in-depth, long-form can be a problem. (I always want to do line by line work, and run out of steam, lol!)
Send files in what form: Any really. I'm on a PC, so email, rtf, doc, txt... I'm on Googledocs, which works really well I think.

Pairings I Write: Archer/Reed
Will I beta smut: Yes, with some kink exclusions
Will I beta outside my pairing: For friendship or gen, yes.
Strong suits: Character voices and behavior, line editing, season 3 xindi arc canon
Weak suits: Action scenes, complex plotting, crossovers, technobabble
Send files in what form: I use a Mac. doc files are fine, googledocs works as well.

I'm mostly only available between semesters but it never hurts to ask.
Name: Aquarius
Pairings I Write: TnT but I've been dabbling.
Will I beta smut: yep
Will I beta outside my pairing: yes. It can be beneficial to an author to have someone who doesn't normally write their pairing go over things; after all, it's your job to sell your readers on the idea.

If you can make me believe in/care about it, then those who already follow your 'ship should have no problem.
Strong suits: Finding the little things, characterization, humor, pacing.
Weak suits: techie stuff
Send files in what form: .doc, .docx
Contact me via: PM or email is fine

Pairings I Write: I like to write "general fic" (mystery, action, sci-fi, character studies) which isn't necessarily pairing-oriented. When I include one or write a pairing-based story it tends to be TnT and, on rare occasions, T/R.
Will I beta smut: Sure!
Will I beta outside my pairing: Sure, no problem.
Strong suits: Pacing and flow. Character voice. Problems with wording and language, especially if English is not your first language. Cultural behavior and general anthropology, especially of alien cultures.
Weak suits: Comma use. Spotting holes or problems in the hard science part of the science-fiction. My schedule can also change on a dime with no notice, so I try to get a beta back within a day or two, otherwise you might end up waiting a while.
Send files in what form: Any file format is fine; I've got Mission Control setup at my desk.
Contact me via: email is best!

Pairings I Write: Trip/T'Pol is my main love. I also write Soval/Amanda and Archer/Sato. I've done Reed/Sato and Archer/Reed (drabble).
Will I beta smut: I can go all the way up to R, but beyond that, no.
Will I beta outside my pairing: Absolutely.

I'd also happily do GEN (non-pairing) stories.
Strong suits: Character development/voices, word flow, plot development/pacing, line editing (I'm extremely thorough) spelling and some grammar.
Weak suits: Commas (though I'm getting better) and techie stuff (Trek science). Also I have a busy schedule, so I am not always available.
Send files in what form: .docx, .doc or .rtf

This is a great idea, thank you!

Quick note: I'll have to take a break from offering beta services until February 1st. (January is packed with some non-writing-life stuff!) I'll be available again after that for anyone who needs a beta.

I can't believe I missed this thread until I started looking for a beta myself! Anyway, yes, I am willing to beta. I usually have several large blocks of time each week that I can devote to something like this, although occasionally I may have to put off a beta for a few days.
Name: Kathy Rose
Pairings I Write: Primarily R/S, but I have done other pairings
Will I beta smut: Yes
Will I beta outside my pairing: Yes
Strong suits: Keeping characters in character, readability of a story (flow), spelling & grammar, canon
Weak suits: Complex plots, angst
Send files in what form: doc or rtf (I generally use OpenOffice and, believe it or not, Wordpad for betaing and writing)
