Show Don't Tell--What The Hell?

A blog post that came up on Twitter that very astutely explains what I wish many, many authors out there knew.

If you're ever betaing for someone and their descriptions start to get listy, and you're mentally going "and then....and then...and then..." as you read, point them to this blog post. I think it'll help!

I know I've been guilty of this over and over again. But in my defense, it's hard to rein it in when I have an entire picture drawn in my mind. One of my greatest loves is drawing but I'm not good at it enough to transfer what's in my head to paper. So when I write, I guess that bleeds into it, good or bad.

Excellent article. Her story does a great job illustrating the point.
Old enough to know better, but that's never stopped me before.
