Hey! I made it by the skin of my teeth! No late challenges this month.!

Those of you who've done this before know how it goes. For the benefit of those who just tuned in:

Every month (when I remeber! ) I give you a prompt. Usually it's a single word but sometimes it's a short phrase. You write an Enterprise story based on whatever that prompt inspires. Any genre (het, slash, gen), any style (humor, mystery, romance, adventure, action, poem, etc.), any length. Get it beta read, and then submit it to our archive! There's no time limit -- this thing won't self-destruct on the 30th or anything. You can revisit any prompt later if you missed it the first time or if you didn't have inspiration for it yet.

Ooh. I'm going to use this one as an excuse to finish one of the short TnT fics I've already started.

A cave with a spider in it? Or that other idea of mine: a cave with moonlight, nice, warm lake, nice smelling flowers...no, that is really . Or a story about Travis rock climbing.... Nah. I will think of something!

Here's my late entry for the prompt (and it's really a stretch). Part three of my TnT baby drabbles, all dialogue:


"Lorian is awake."

"I can hear that."

"I will attend to him."

"Hold on, isn't it my turn?"

"You have to get up early."

"So? You don't have to do everything."

"I'm on the outside of the bed. Therefore, it is logical for me to go."

"Oh, Lord love a Duck, T'Pol!"

"I fail to see--"

"Never mind. Just let me get up, okay?"

"Very well."

"Really?"

"Is that a problem?"

"Well, no, it's just that...you caved awfully fast."

"Perhaps I am simply too tired to argue."

"Huh. Wait a minute, he's not crying anymore."

"I sense that he's confused."

"Can't say I blame him."

"..."

"Um, why don't we both go check on him?"

Really cute!

That's a creative way of using the prompt "cave".

Thanks, Misplaced and Panyasan! I admit, that was probably stretching the prompt to the breaking point.

LOL awesome use of the word, Hummingbird! I love this. I do try to pick things that have some ambiguity for that very reason. So glad you wrote this!
