Out of a discussion in the Musical Inspiration thread comes a new drabble thread!

This works just like the original drabble thread, except that the prompt is a song rather than a word. Here's how it works:
I'll provide the first song. Somebody posts a drabble, 100 words exactly, inspired by that song, then picks the song for the next prompt. Then someone else writes a drabble for that song, picks the next song, etc. If you miss a chance to drabble here but were really inspired by a song, feel free to post yours to the "Drabbles, Just Because" thread!


Rules:
1) It has to be a song, i.e. there must be lyrics. No instrumentals allowed.
2) You must provide a link to the lyrics (or English translation of the lyrics if that's necessary). Just Google for the lyrics and link to them. Do not post the lyrics here. Bad copyright juju.
3) If possible, provide a link to the actual song on blip.fm, YouTube or some other place. You won't always be able to do this, so don't worry about it.

Jon stared at his two best friends, who were seated at the center table. Trip grinned like a fool, whispering in T’Pol’s ear. She sipped on Champagne as her eyebrow rose.

He’d nearly choked up during the ceremony, seeing his two close friends so happy. But their joy reminded him that he would go home to the largest bed on the ship, alone.

He slipped away as the dj began playing an old song. He still heard the thumping music as he sat down on his bed, and was met with a lick.
“Love will keep us together, boy,” he said.

I've written a wee prequel to my story Scalene. It's Archer/Tucker MU slash but very tame:


Tucker lay on his bed, staring at The Defiant’s ceiling. Archer had placed himself in charge, his ambitions obviously going beyond just being captain. Sighing, Tucker closed his eyes. Against his will, he remembered the supportive officer who had recognized his ability and gotten him on the Warp 5 Project. He remembered a kiss that was softer than he expected. Unfamiliar sensations became familiar. Secrets became a way of life.

He remembered the two of them lying in each other’s arms, talking about the future. All Archer had wanted was to be captain.

Those days seemed a million miles away.
