And with regards to the criticism of it being sexed up (in the thing that Aquarius posted) - that's just nuts. I mean, really, it's like they weren't even watching other Trek incarnations. Not only did TOS give us mini-skirts and green skinned slave girls and shirtless Kirk and Pon Farr, but remember the planet they visited on TNG where Wesley steps on flowers and everyone is running around in these teeny bikinis? Was not DS9 chocked full of holo-porn jokes and ear gratification jokes? Not only did Voyager give us 7of9 (who transcended her eye candyness to be a great character) but copious Klingon rough sex jokes around the Paris/Torres ship?
But you know what? I think part of the problem was that much of the "eye" of Enterprise was on the men. Io9 did an article on the rare cases in SciFi when men's bodies are celebrated - and they used Enterprise as a positive example.
Anyway, that's a perfect example of people wanting to find something to hate - and totally deluded themselves about the instances of the same stuff going on elsewhere in the franchise.
