I hope I'm not putting a damper on things by posting the results of this TV.Com poll.

Not only are you not putting a damper on things - I think this deserves its own thread for discussion!

Things I noticed:

I am a big fan of the third season, so it doesn't surprise me that the top ten is heavily populated by third season episodes.

Even as the one who put Carbon Creek on the "underrated" episode list, I'm surprised to see it as low as 30.

I'm utterly shocked to see Terra Prime so low, as I think it's one of the greatest episodes of trek hands down. Ditto for Similitude.

Interesting to see Shockwave I so high, though I think it's a crackerjack episode. I'm partial to Shockwave II because I like the crew working together to save the ship.

When did they do this poll - I always miss these things (although my votes probably wouldn't have made much difference anyway, my opinions tend to run a little contrary to most other ENT fans)

A few surprising results though

Not sure I entirely agree with them - I'd put "Countdown" over "Zero Hour" simply because I loath how season 3 ends with the alien Nazis, and "Twilight" ranks very low for me (I hate magic reset button episodes with the intensity of a billion suns, doesn't matter what franchise they're in), not to mention "The Seventh" should be squarely in the red IMHO - but it's still interesting.

I think there's a lot of room for debate about the rankings in the middle area, but it's fascinating to see what's dead last (no argument there) and the general trend of what falls into the top ten and last ten. We might debate the individual episodes amounts ourselves (I still like "A Night in Sickbay", LOL, and there a few folks who would take something out and put a different ep in) but statistically the top ten and last ten are awfully close to what we generally agree on as a group.

I am surprised that Strange New World ended so low, I really think it is one of the better episode. And I guess I have to live some many people seemed to like Twilight (my main objection against this episode: T'Pol throws away her life and doesn't do the logical thing to help Enterprise but out of quilt becomes a nurse, taking care of Archer, which I think isn't a wonderful thing). Most of the other in the top are very good indeed. Terra Prime is low as well, as is Breaking the Ice and Bound. But I totally agree with the worst one!
