In Düsseldorf? That's about two and a half hours drive from where I live!

That's lucky, panyasan! Thinking of going?

I have simultaneously been seeking an excuse to finally go to Germany and waiting a very long time to meet Bakula, and both situations could not collide and present themselves to me at a more inconvenient time. I could potentially scrape together the funds to go, but alone? No fun.

Not to mention Fedcon is simply fabulous. Very fan-oriented, not this commercial crap that passes for Creation conventions.

Seeing Scott there would probably be a first-class experience!

Mr. Smith:

I've done it alone...not really that bad...you make friends there.

I've got to say that meeting Scott Bakula is a VERY cool thing. Scott is one of the most gracious human beings I've ever had the pleasure to meet (which I've now done at least 12 times, mostly after the plays he's done.) If you can do it, I'd say give it a go cause that opportunity may never pass your way again.

I went to FedCon last year and met Scott. I was also alone, but it was cool. I had fun anyway, because people there were very friendly.

asearcher is right. Meeting Scott is one of the best experiences you could ever hope to have. For me it was not only extraordinary, but also unexpected. I'd never thought I'd get the opportunity to meet him, seeing as living in Eastern Europe doesn't exactly put me on the map of Trek-oriented events or Broadway plays. I'd only wished it for a split second or so, but I'd never expected to actually be given the chance to see him face to face. Needless to say, I was amazed when he was announced as a guest for FedCon, especially since I'd had my con ticket for about a year and I was going anyway. My early booking of the ticket also ensured a decent seat in the main hall where he had his Q&A panels, so I got to snap some nice photos as well. You can see them here if you wish.

I was very impressed with how nice, warm and modest Scott was. He seemed genuinely happy to meet with fans, and was more approachable than I'd expected. He reached out to shake my hand, and he had this wide, bright smile on his face. I melted instantly. :D Truly a great experience and he's a wonderful person. I'm very, very grateful I got this opportunity.

I'll say! He was yummy to see in person. I got a real close look at those arms of his, too. Not exactly the worst thing a girl can stare at. :D
