I loved this story.  Sweet but with a punch to it.  And like kayjayuu, I don't think I've ever seen anyone write about the Avians.  Fantastic and thank you.

Author's Response:

The thanks are mine! I'm delighted that you enjoyed it. I've always been fascinated by the whole Xindi culture (or multi-culture) and since I'd never read anything of them either, it seemed like something good to explore.

I love this, Mareel! It has a hauntingly beautiful quality.

Author's Response:

Thank you!  I'm so glad that mood was conveyed - it's very much what I was hoping for.

You know, I think this is the ONLY story I've seen, anywhere, that deals with the Avians in any way. It's beautiful, and the E2 AU is actually the best way to explore them.

Talk about thinking and writing outside the box. Bravo!

Phlox's voice is spot on for the few words he speaks. And much needed, I can believe that without his input Jon may have further considered going down anyway. Just to see.

And a fabulous ending, indeed. Would it have made any difference? Contacting these sages of the Xindi race, revered to the end? And a difference to whom?

Author's Response:

Thank you so much! I'm so glad that you enjoyed it, and especially that it seems to have conveyed what Jonathan was trying to say.  And yes, I agree that without Phlox's input, the temptation might have become close to irresistible for him.

The Avians have always intrigued me, and I've really wanted explore their culture in some way. And when I realized that the time-shift for the E2 Enterprise matched so well with that for the destruction of Xindus, that decided it for me.
